I didn't see any loons here (other than on the back of a dollar), but I heard a few elsewhere. A loon is a duckish looking bird, but it doesn't quack like a duck. It has a uniquely mournful spooky sound. I took a lot of pictures like this too, but I like how this evokes the end of the day.
